Vacancy for a Parish Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer

(salary in accordance with NALC and SLCC recommended rates)

Part time – 11 hours per week

Salary – SCP14-18 pro rata

Start date: 1st November 2025 (or sooner for training)

Morwenstow Parish Council is seeking a Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer (RFO). We are looking to recruit someone with excellent organisational skills and administrative abilities, who is computer literate and comfortable with budgets, spreadsheets and administering finances. A knowledge of local government would be an advantage but enthusiasm and willingness to learn will be taken into account.

Morwenstow is the most northerly parish in Cornwall and is in the North Cornwall Community Area Partnership (CAP). The Parish Council consists of 10 Councillors plus the Parish Clerk.

The Clerk/RFO will work from home and will be responsible for the administration of the business of the council.

Duties will include:

· Attending meetings on the third Wednesday of the month plus the Annual Parish meeting and any additional meetings required

· The preparation of meeting agendas and taking accurate minutes of the meetings and the publication of agendas and minutes on the Parish Council website

· Setting the Council's budget, keeping accurate financial records, payment of accounts and ensuring the Council operates within its financial and legal obligations
